An alternative parking lot has been set up. For more information, visit www.mittersill.info. Nestled picturesquely between steep rock faces, Hintersee is a popular excursion destination. The valley head of the Felbertal is characterized by this mountain lake, which was formed in 1495 by a rockslide. The ice-cold water of the lake is so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom and the fish swimming in it. A few meters before the lake is the large parking lot for day visitors, up to 10 spaces of which can also be used as pitches. There are toilets with washbasins, but no shower facilities. Please do not dispose of large amounts of waste in the bins but at the waste collection centers in the villages in the valley. Even mobile phone reception is often difficult at the parking lot, and there is no internet. Therefore, we recommend booking the pitch online in advance. Dogs are generally allowed, but since the pitch is located on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park, dogs should not run free to avoid endangering wildlife. ATTENTION: Parking and camping along the access road and at the Schösswendklamm parking lot are strictly prohibited!
